Nagpur, March 31
Three minors to avoid challan, injured the traffic constable on duty under the jurisdiction of Lakadganj police station. Traffic constable Pramod Khambalkar was checking vehicles near Lakadganj railway crossing, when he spotted three minors triple seat on a two-wheeler. He signaled them to stop, but instead the minors tried to speed away and in the process injured Khambalkar. The police has arrested the minors and registered offence against them of negligent riding, injury to on duty police personnel and creating hurdles in government work.
There have been several incidence in the recent past due to two-wheeler riders. Some of the two-wheeler riders also have been injured in the process which was reported by this newspaper. Recently a woman’s video in Itwari, Shahid Chowk went viral, and the police had to provide answers. It has been learnt that the senior officers have given ‘target’ to traffic constables and hence the employees are ready to do anything.
