HE said after the recent elections of the Maharashtra Boxing Association, this is the first large-scale event being organised in the city. union minister Nitin Gadkari will inaugurated the event in the presence of newly-elected president of Maharashtra Boxing Association and forner MP Rahul Shewale, vice president Ranjit Sawarkar, secretary Dr Rakesh Tiwari, treasurer Milan Vaidya, and core committee members Dhananjay Bansode, Manoj Pingale, and Gopal Dewang are playing active roles.
Under the sports code, 15 different commissions have been formed to handle various responsibilities, ensuring the competition is conducted in a disciplined and international-standard manner. Special arrangements have been made for players, including accommodation at the venue and hotels in Nagpur, along with food, security, medical facilities, and transportation.

Pathway to Asian Championship
This championship is not limited to the national level. The top boxers selected here will be included in India’s Under-17 team and will represent the country at the Asian Under-17 Boxing Championship 2026 to be held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. National coaches and selectors will closely monitor performances, while the presence of Arjuna Award winners will inspire young athletes. This event will lay a strong foundation for the future of boxing in India, said Dr Tiwari.
