Speaking further Dr Dudhe said, “The university has started regular training for table tennis, karate and gymnastics and in coming days more sports would be added to the list,” Dudhe said.

He further assured that the facilities will not be restricted to colleges only. School going students must also benefit from it, he added. Apart from the regular training, the participants will also be helped through specialists regarding diet, fitness and on how to avoid sports injuries and overcoming those in case one contracts those.

Chief guest of the programme Prof Sanjay Bhende said sports has an ability to change entire personality of the students. The practice though must be well planned and correct technically and university coming with these facilities is an apt idea. University’s sports premises must become a centre of attraction for the students.”

Dr Dhananjay Welukar, member of varsity’s Sports and Physical Education Council, Dr Vishakha Joshi, city’s international table tennis player Mallika Bhandarkar, Shiv Chhatrapati awardee Bhavna Bhotmage, Dr Vijay Datarkar, Dr Vivek Awsare and Nagpur District Table Tennis Association’s Secretary Adv Ashutosh Potnis shared the dais. Dr Sharad Suryawanshi, Director, Sports and Physical Education made introductory remarks. Dr Aditya Soni conducted the proceedings while Dr Vivekanand Singh proposed a vote of thanks. Organising committee’s Dr Ashok Kapta, Dr Shriram Aaglawe, Dr Saurabh Mohod and Dr Sharda Naidu welcomed the guests. Under the guidance of Vijay Ghichare, who is also Secretary of Vidarbha Karate Association and Yugbahadur Chhatri, demonstration of karate and gymnastics respectively were held on the occasion. Chakrasan player Raghav Bhangde, Mangesh Mopkar, who has been selected as an official for Tokyo Olympics, international gymnast Prachi Parkhi and Mrunmayi Walde were felicitated by Dudhe with mementoes.
