possibly, it is for the first time after the merger of Vodafone and Idea (Vi), the connectivity of the telecom operator collapsed in the entire state. Since morning the Vodafone-Idea call was not connected nor had been received. Due to network collapse and large number of children failed to give online test. Some of the entrepreneurs also missed online meeting. Transaction was stuck and exchange of files was also not be done. It is said that some technical fault developed due to flood in Pune. The connectivity problem of Vi network felt in state capital Mumbai and second capital Nagpur.
Amid the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, calling and data are the basis for people to connect with each other and it has been the basis of most task. Since Thursday morning, after the problem of Vi''s connectivity, people slowly started reaching to the Vi outlets for complaints. Sources said that instructions were given to close the outlets as tension was created. Angry people tried to complain on Vi''s customer care number but even this call could not be connected.
Trolling continues
Due to lack of calling and data connectivity, extremely angry customers expressed their displeasure towards Vi on social media through other numbers. The trend of trolling continued from morning to evening.
SIMs of other companies in front of closed outlets of Vi
After Vi''s service came to a standstill and tension increased and when its outlets in the city were closed on Wednesday, representatives of other companies started selling SIMs in front of their shutters. A similar view appeared in front of several outlets including Ashok Square in the city. After getting annoyed with the service of Vi, a large number of people appeared to be taking SIM from another company.
Different times for restoration of service
A distributor of Vi on the condition of anonymity said at first 2pm time was given by the company for restoration of service. Later they sent a message for 4pm and after that a message was sent for restoration of service from 10.30 pm.
