The part of the under-construction double-decker bridge on Wardha road from Sai Mandir to Sonegaon police station is complete.

Recently it was said that light and painting works were remaining. Now, all the lights are fitted and painting work is also done. Now the question is being raised as to why the movement of traffic is not started on the double decker bridge,

Apart from easing the traffic on the busiest route of the city, this bridge will be quite convenient to reach the airport. It is a matter of discussion that it is being kept stuck for inauguration by a VIP. The silence of the authorities is also indicating this. It is worth mentioning that the first double decker bridge was to be constructed by the National Highway Authority of India(NHAI). But due to the proposed Metro rail bridge in this part, the construction of double decker bridge was also handed over to the Metro. The double decker bridge work was to be completed by June 2019 after beginning of work in December 2016. Meanwhile, the Manish Nagar RUB and ROB projects were included in it. But this project got delayed due to frequent changes in design and land work. The original project was of the double decker bridge, which is why on completion of this, now citizens want to use it to get the facility. Even after a delay of about a year, if it is made to wait for the inauguration, it does not seem appropriate.

When Metro managing director Dr Brajesh Dixit was asked about the double decker bridge, he said the work of Manish Nagar flyover is going on. He was busy in meeting. However, he did not say anything on inauguration issue.

A fairly wide divider is built on the double decker bridge. Soil has already been planted here for planting. But plantation has not been done on most parts.

It would have been better to do this work in the rain. Now thorn plants and shrubs have grown on this soil in many places. Earlier this year, the first work was being told to be completed by March. Then the lockdown came into force. After the unlock, there was talk of starting movement in September. It was said October at the end of September, now when October starts, it is being said to start it in November. It sounds like a joke.
