‘Will not implement new farm rules in Maharashtra’

Nagpur, Oct 15

The Central government has done great injustice to the farmers by passing three laws related to agriculture in the Parliament. These are ‘black laws’ for farmers and they will be completely ruined by it. The Congress has taken an aggressive stance on these laws and asserted that it will not be implemented in Maharashtra. The announcement was made by Congress leaders at the Shatkari Bachao Rally, Elgar rally on Thursday.

Organised online, the rally was addressed by various leaders from across the state. Maharashtra Congress Committee State president Balasaheb Thorat, Public Works Minister Ashok Chavan, former chief minister Prithviraj Chavan, Maharashtra Congress in-charge H K Patil, Maharashtra Pradesh Congress working president Dr Nitin Raut, Minister of State for Co-operation Dr Vishwajit Kadam and Minister of State for Home Affairs Satej Patil were also present.

Animal Husbandry Minister Sunil Kedar joined the rally from Gwalior, Women and Child Development Minister Yashomati Thakur from Amravati, Medical Education Minister Amit Deshmukh from Aurangabad, Tribal Development Minister K C Padvi from Nandurbar and Rajya Sabha member Rajeev Satav from Sangamner also spoke on the occasion. In Nagpur, city president MLA Vikas Thakre guided the workers at Rathod Lawn on Mankapur Ring Road.

Nitin Raut addressed the farmers at Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) ground at Umred. Relief and Rehabilitation Minister Vijay Vadettiwar, MLA Raju Parve, Nagpur District Rural Congress Committee chairman Rajendra Mulak were present on the occasion. Raut alleged that the BJP was trying hand over all the farm land and farmers to a few capitalists in the name of agriculture reform and these black laws. These laws will not be implemented in the State, said Vikas Thakre in Nagpur.
