Poonam Shende’s google account was blocked and she had registered a complaint on customer care. She received a call on December 14 from unknown person, who informed her about her complaint and asked her to click the link sent on her mobile. When she clicked the link, her mobile got hang and when it restarted after four-five minutes, Poonam got a message that `60,000 has been debited from her account. She immediately called the mobile number and the person on the other side sent her an app and told her to download it, so that her 60,000 would be refunded.
When she downloaded the app, another 25,000 got deducted from her account. A total of `85,000 were deducted from her account and then she realised that she is being duped. She registered a complaint at Nandanvan police station. Police has registered a case under IT act.
