Nagpur, April 28

Rupesh Kumbhare was killed in a dispute over speeding bike. The Pachpaoli police have arrested two accused and their three minor accomplices involved in the murder. The people in the area are saying that the motive behind the murder is old rivalry.

The accused Golu alias Praveen Waghmare (25) and Gaurav Girde (20) are from Lalganj, Khairipura. It is to be known that 22-year-old Rupesh Kumbhare was killed at Maratha Square in Bangladesh colony on Tuesday night. This was the third murder under the jurisdiction of Pachapaoli police station in a week.

The police came to know about the involvement of Golu and Gaurav in the murder along with the help of three minor accomplice. They confessed to the crime during interrogation in police custody.

The Pachpaoli police had arrested Golu on March 8 with dangerous weapons and Gaurav had attacked a youth on April 5, along with his accomplice. After coming in the list of police, instead of lying low, both became more hostile.

The accused argued that Rupesh was going very fast when he was crossing Maratha Square on Tuesday night on his bike. Rupesh had a dispute with the accused for driving the bike fast. Rupesh walked away and threatened them to kill on the lines of Indal. Rupesh came from home again at around 9.30 pm and the accused were sitting near the Kolkata railway line.

There was a dispute between them again. Golu who stays close by, came with a swordstick. Gaurav had a knife. Both attacked Rupesh with the help of three minor accomplice. Rupesh ran towards his home but fell near Maratha Square. He was declared dead on arrival at the hospital. It is being portrayed that the murder happened due to dispute, but sources claim that Rupesh was killed due to old enmity.

Sources say that Rupesh had already became an eye sore for them. After their name came on police record, they wanted to be called as ‘bhai’ and be noticed as seasoned criminals. They wanted to establish their terror in the region and hence they killed Rupesh.

Rupesh was the only son of his parents. The father is a driver and the he had one sister. Rupesh used to work in a salon in Vaishali Nagar.
