A 28-year-old man, Rajendra Kolhe, died by suicide on Wednesday evening in Pimpalgaon Bahula, Nashik, after suffering a significant financial loss of ₹16 lakh in the stock market. Kolhe, a resident of Vitai in Chandwad taluka, was employed at a private bank in Nashik.   Prior to his bank job, Kolhe worked at a private investment firm, where he reportedly invested his earnings in the stock market instead of sending them to his family.  Facing substantial losses, he left the investment firm and joined the private bank in Myco Circle.  However, his financial difficulties and accumulating debts continued to cause him immense distress.

On the day of Mahashivratri, Kolhe visited the Trimbakeshwar temple.  While returning, he stopped near Jyoti Vidyalaya in Pimpalgaon Bahula.  He then poured petrol on himself and ignited it while seated on his motorcycle.  Local residents alerted the Satpur police, who quickly arrived at the scene.  By that time, Kolhe had suffered severe burns covering 90% of his body, and his motorcycle was completely destroyed by the fire.   Due to the lack of an immediate ambulance response, police and villagers transported Kolhe to the district hospital in a police vehicle.  Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries later that night.
