Admissions under the Right to Education (RTE) Act are currently in progress, with 26 students already confirmed. However, 293 seats remain vacant due to low demand. Parents are urged to take advantage of this opportunity and complete the admission process as soon as possible.

Under the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009, 25% of seats in private unaided schools and self-funded schools are reserved for children from economically weaker and disadvantaged sections at the first or pre-primary level. The RTE admission lottery draw was conducted in Pune, selecting 5,007 students from Nashik district.

After registering eligible schools for the RTE 25% free admission scheme, parents submitted online applications. Once the draw was completed, selected parents received SMS notifications. However, parents are advised not to rely solely on SMS and should verify their selection by entering their application number in the "Application Status" tab on the RTE portal.

Admissions are being verified by 20 verification committees across the district, with 15 committees for taluka-level schools, 4 committees in Nashik city, and 1 committee in Malegaon.

Parents need to submit the following documents: proof of residence such as a ration card, driving license, or rental agreement if living with siblings; proof of date of birth like a birth certificate; income certificate issued by an authorized officer, which must show an income below ₹1 lakh; and a disability certificate if applicable, showing more than 40% disability.

RTE admissions are available in various schools across the district. Nashik City has 41 schools, Niphad 31, Baglan 17, Sinnar 27, Chandwad 15, Deola 14, Igatpuri 26, Kalwan 12, Malegaon 21, Malegaon City 25, Nandgaon 18, and Peth 19.

Authorities have warned that if any admission is found to be secured using false or incorrect details, it will be canceled. Additionally, submitting fake birth certificates or income certificates may lead to fraud charges.

The demand for RTE admissions has grown significantly as the scheme covers all school expenses, including no school development fees, no monthly or annual fees, and government reimbursement to schools. Parents who are eligible but haven’t yet completed the process are urged to apply before the seats are filled.
