A violent incident in Akhtarabad area of Malegaon city has claimed one life and left another person seriously injured, following an attack linked to an earlier dispute. According to reports, seven individuals targeted two men and carried out a brutal assault. One of the victims died on the spot, while the other sustained critical injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital. The incident has led to a tense calm in the area, with residents remaining on edge after the shocking attack.
As per the complaint, the complainant’s brother, Sheikh Salim Sheikh Chand, and his friend Faiz Ahmed Mohammed Amin (resident of 52 Room, Bada Kabristan), were standing near a beedi warehouse in Akhtarabad when seven suspects arrived at the location. The accused were reportedly armed with sticks, rods, a sickle, and a sword. They picked a quarrel and launched a violent attack on the two men. Kalim Natya allegedly struck with a sharp sword, while Riaz Mohammed and Rizwan attacked using a sickle. The other suspects also assaulted Salim, resulting in his death, while Faiz was seriously injured in the attack.
Following the incident, the accused fled from the scene. Sheikh Hanif Sheikh Chand, also known as Raju, lodged a complaint at Pawarwadi Police Station against Matin Mulla (full name unknown), Kalim Matin Mulla alias Kalim Natya, Shoaib Ali, Bilal, Riaz Mohammed, Rizwan, and Saif Ali, all residents of Malegaon. Based on the complaint, police have started an investigation into the case. Two suspects have been detained for questioning, while efforts are ongoing to trace the remaining accused.
