Vehicular traffic in Manmad city of Maharashtra's Nashik district was disrupted for nearly 13 hours on Tuesday evening, April 14, due to diversions imposed for Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar’s birth anniversary. Authorities have now restored traffic on both the Indore–Pune and Pune–Indore National Highways.
The diversions created long queues of vehicles across key stretches passing through Manmad, affecting commuters travelling towards Malegaon and Shirdi. Motorists faced significant delays as traffic congestion built up during the day.
Police had implemented the diversion plan to manage large gatherings and processions organised to mark Ambedkar Jayanti. The restrictions remained in place for several hours before normal movement resumed.
