A 17-year-old boy, Arun Bandi, was brutally attacked and killed by a gang of five to six people in the Sant Kabirnagar area late on Saturday night. Arun was a resident of Kamgaar Nagar, Satpur.

According to the police, the attack took place around 11 PM when Arun was near Sant Kabirnagar. The gang assaulted him with sharp weapons and sticks, leaving him severely injured. As soon as the incident was reported, the city police rushed to the scene and moved Arun to Nashik Civil Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.

To prevent any possible violence, a heavy police force was deployed in the area. The Riot Control Police (RCP) was also stationed to maintain order and prevent any further incidents.

The Gangapur police have detained two suspects and are currently investigating the case. According to senior officers, the attack occurred after six youths, including two minors and two recently turned 18, confronted Arun. They argued with him over his presence in Sant Kabirnagar, as he was a resident of Kamgaar Nagar. The suspects allegedly questioned why Arun had entered their area when they never visited his locality. The situation quickly escalated into violence, resulting in the fatal attack.

The police are now searching for four more suspects involved in the crime. Meanwhile, street crimes in Nashik remain a growing concern. Last year, the city recorded 40 murders, 98 attempted murder cases, 89 cases of rioting, and over 500 cases of voluntarily causing hurt.

The Gangapur police have assured that they are actively investigating the case and will soon arrest the remaining accused.
