A 28-year-old trainee sub-inspector was found dead in his room at the Maharashtra Police Academy (MPA) on Trimbak Road, Nashik, on Monday. The incident came to light in the afternoon when his batchmates went to check on him after he missed his routine attendance.

The deceased has been identified as Someshwar Gore, a resident of Beed. According to the Gangapur police, Gore did not leave a suicide note.

Gore joined the MPA training program in January 2025. His batchmates mentioned that he was not in a good mood over the past few weeks due to a leg injury, which prevented him from participating in outdoor drills.

Following the incident, the police have registered a case of accidental death and further investigation is underway.
