On the occasion of Civil Services Day, Nashik District Collector Jalaj Sharma was honored with the prestigious Prime Minister's Civil Services Excellence Award 2023. He received the award in the ‘Overall Development of Districts’ category for his outstanding work in implementing 12 major schemes of the Central Government and contributing to the holistic development of the Nashik district.

The award ceremony was held at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi on Monday. Under Sharma’s leadership, Nashik district earned national recognition for the effective execution of key schemes such as Ayushman Bharat, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission, Ujjwala Yojana, Mudra Scheme, Poshan Abhiyan, Swanidhi Yojana, and PM Vishwakarma Yojana.

The award includes a trophy, a certificate, and an incentive fund of ₹20 lakh, which will be used to further implement public welfare projects in the district.

The ceremony was graced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh, and senior officials including T. V. Somnathan, V. Srinivas, and Shashikant Das.

After receiving the award, Collector Jalaj Sharma dedicated it to the collective efforts of Nashik’s citizens and the entire administrative team. He said, “This award is not just a personal achievement, but a symbol of what we can accomplish together. It will continue to motivate us to work harder for the people of Nashik.”
