The Crime Branch Unit-1 has successfully apprehended one of the suspects in the daylight robbery at Shree Jewellers shop in Ambad. The arrested individual has been identified as Nilesh, also known as Shubham Beldar, aged 25, and a resident of Dattanagar, Chunchale. He was taken into custody on February 17th, and one tola of gold and six and a half tola of silver ornaments were recovered from him.

The robbery took place when two masked assailants entered a goldsmith shop in Mahalaxminagar, Ambad, brandishing a country-made pistol. After intimidating the staff, they fled the scene. Senior Police Inspector Madhukar Kad swiftly organized two investigation teams to track down the perpetrators.

Acting on confidential information, a team including Police Inspector Hemant Todkar, Sub-Inspector Chetan Shrivant, and Constables Mahesh Salunke, Vishal Kathe, Mukhtar Sheikh, Appa Panwal, Amol Koshti, and Vishal Deore, laid a trap at Sinnarphata. They apprehended Beldar as he arrived on a two-wheeler.

Beldar, who has a previous record for stealing a mobile phone in Satpur, orchestrated the robbery with two accomplices. Police Inspector Madhukar Kad mentioned that Beldar has completed his 12th standard education and is in good health. Efforts are underway to locate and apprehend his accomplices.

During interrogation, it was revealed that Beldar and his accomplices had conducted prior reconnaissance of the area. Beldar positioned himself strategically during the robbery, waiting on his bike nearby to facilitate a quick escape after the heist.

The investigation remains ongoing as the police continue to pursue leads to apprehend the remaining suspects involved in this robbery.

This development marks a significant breakthrough for the Nashik Crime Branch in its efforts to combat local crime and ensure public safety.
