A shocking murder case in Panchvati, Nashik, has been solved within five hours, revealing a dispute over tea distribution wages as the cause. A young man, found in a pool of blood near the SBI Bank in Pethphata on Wednesday morning (12th), was killed by a blow to the head with a blunt object.

The deceased has been identified as Shantilal Bansi Brahmane (29, Res. Borgad, Mhasrul). The accused, Santosh Ramesh Ahire (32, Res. Erandwadi, Pethphata), was caught by Panchvati police based on CCTV footage. Investigations revealed that both men were intoxicated and had a heated argument over wage money related to tea distribution, which escalated into a deadly attack. Ahire allegedly struck Brahmane’s head with a stone, leading to his death.

The murder came to light when locals spotted the body in an open space in front of Gulab Bagh. Authorities were immediately alerted, and Deputy Commissioner Kiran Kumar Chavan, Senior Inspector Madhukar Kad, and the Crime Investigation Team arrived at the scene. After conducting a panchnama, the body was sent for a post-mortem at the district hospital.

Forensic experts Dr. Hemant Ghangle and Dr. Dinesh Pawar confirmed that Brahmane suffered severe head injuries from a heavy stone or blunt object. Additionally, he had multiple wounds and bruises, indicating he was beaten before his death.

Under the guidance of Senior Inspector Madhukar Kad, a special police team, including Assistant Inspector Hemant Todkar, Sub-Inspector Chetan Sriwant, Constable Praveen Waghmare, and officers Vilas Charoskar, Nitin Jagtap, and Muktar Sheikh, swiftly investigated the case. With the help of CCTV footage, Ahire was traced and arrested within just five hours of the post-mortem report confirming the murder.

The accused is now in police custody, and further investigations are underway.
