Nashik: A 28-years-old man and his two sons were found dead from Palkhed canal on Sunday, March 22, 2026, while the search of third child is still missing. Deceased identified as Deepak Pawar and his two sons Veer and Prasad. Deceased man was a daily wage worker and resident of Nandurdi village. As per the inspector Ganesh Gaurav of Niphhad police station, a police spotted the bodies of two children that were  trapped against a gate in the canal.

An officer stated that after an alarm was raised, locals alerted the police. Gurav added that the Palkhed canal was flowing at high capacity due to water released from the dam for agricultural and drinking purposes, and the bodies were recovered from the water in the afternoon. Police learned that Deepak and Avinash (3) were also missing when they went to the children's house.

According to TOI, "Deepak fought with his wife on Sunday. Later, he told his wife that he was taking his sons for a haircut and took them with him. After that nobody saw them," the inspector said. "It is likely that Pawar threw the children and then jumped into the canal."
