A wave of violent crime has gripped Nashik city as two brutal murders have been reported in just a few days, raising serious concerns about public safety.

The first incident occurred in the College Road area, where a young man named Arun Bundi was murdered late at night. Arun had stepped out of his house and reached the Sant Kabir Nagar area when a gang, reportedly waiting to ambush him, attacked him with a sharp weapon. The assault was so severe that Arun died on the spot before any help could arrive. The motive behind the attack is still under investigation.

Even as the city reeled from this shocking crime, another murder took place in the Pathardi Phata area. A group of four to five assailants attacked two young men — Ramdas Borade (19) and Rajesh Borade — with sharp weapons late on Sunday night.

According to police sources, both youths had gone to the Pandavleni area in CIDCO around 11:30 p.m. when they were targeted by the gang. Both sustained serious injuries and were rushed to a private hospital in Pathardi Phata. However, Ramdas succumbed to his injuries during treatment, while Rajesh is still undergoing medical care.

A case has been registered at the Indiranagar Police Station, and police have already taken two suspects into custody. Investigations are ongoing to determine the reasons behind the attacks and to identify other people involved.

The back-to-back killings have created fear among residents, and citizens are urging authorities to increase patrolling and take strong action against rising crime in Nashik.
