After successfully entering the American market last year, mangoes from Nashik district are now witnessing growing demand in European countries as well. Following grapes, pomegranates, and onions, mango cultivation in Nashik is also expanding, with more farmers turning to export-quality mango production.

To facilitate exports, mango orchards will now be registered through the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority's (APEDA) Magonet online system, similar to the registration process for grape orchards. This registration is essential for exporting mangoes to the European Union and other international markets.

By the end of today, 9,459 exportable mango orchards from Maharashtra have been registered for the 2024-25 season. Initially, the deadline for online registration under the Magonet system was December 31, 2024, but it has now been extended to February 28, 2025. Farmers who wish to export mangoes must submit an application in the prescribed format (Form 1). Following this, an inspection officer will assess the orchard and submit a report (Form 4A) to the District Superintendent of Agriculture Officer.

Mango cultivation is growing in Nashik, particularly in talukas like Dindori, Peth, Surgana, and Igatpuri. Farmers from these regions who are interested in exporting their produce are encouraged to complete their registrations. In-charge District Superintendent of Agriculture, Jagdish Patil, has urged mango growers to contact their respective Taluka Agriculture Officers for assistance in the registration process.
