A female passenger who had accidentally left her purse in a state transport bus was reunited with her valuable belongings thanks to the alertness and honesty of the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) staff. The purse contained 19 tolas of gold and Rs 5,000 in cash. The woman was overwhelmed with emotion and burst into tears upon receiving it back.

The incident took place on Tuesday morning when the e-Shivai bus departed from Borivali towards Nashik. As the bus entered Nashik city, a few female passengers got down at the Pathardi Phata stop along with their relatives. In the rush, one woman unknowingly left her purse on the bus.

The bus later reached Depot Number One in Nashik. There, conductor Suresh Gangurde and driver Somnath Chavan noticed the unclaimed purse on a seat. At the same time, the woman realized her purse was missing and rushed to the depot in an auto-rickshaw.

Just as the conductor and driver were heading to deposit the purse at the control room, the woman arrived at the depot. After verifying the ownership of the purse in the presence of Station Master Dadaji Mahajan, the purse was safely returned to her.

The woman was in tears and kept expressing her gratitude to the MSRTC staff. The corporation recognized the honesty and dedication of conductor Gangurde and driver Chavan by felicitating them.

The incident has earned praise for MSRTC’s commitment to passenger service and trust.
