Following a tragic accident on Gangapur Road, where a tree branch fell on a mother and son riding a motorcycle, the Nashik Municipal Corporation has ordered an urgent survey of dangerous trees across the city.

In the incident that took place three days ago, Alka Sonawane lost her life, while her son Deepak Sonawane sustained serious injuries. The incident has once again raised concerns over old, dry, and insect-damaged trees, especially in busy areas.

Taking immediate action, the Park Department has instructed all park inspectors to conduct a thorough survey of potentially hazardous trees. Trees that are leaning, dry, or have weak branches will be marked and pruned ahead of the upcoming monsoon season.
