In an unusual incident that highlights the dedication of Nashik’s sanitation workers, a woman from Saibaba Complex recovered her lost gold ring thanks to the prompt action of the municipal garbage collection team.

On a routine morning  Hemangi Kumawat collected flower petals and household waste to deposit in the neighborhood bell jar for garbage collection. Unaware, she had left her 4-gram gold ring on the flower petals by mistake. By the time she realized the ring was missing, it was likely already picked up by the "Ghantagadi" (garbage collection vehicle) that serves the area between 8:30 am and 8:45 am.

Quickly, Kumawat contacted Arun Gulve, the supervisor of the ward, explaining the situation and the possibility that the ring had gone into the trash. Gulve acted swiftly, reaching out to the vehicle driver, Tushar Pawar, along with sanitation workers Pawan Salve and Madhu Shirodkar.

The team carefully sifted through the garbage bags, focusing on the bag Kumawat had deposited. After an hour-long search, the workers successfully located the gold ring amidst the discarded waste. The ring was immediately identified and returned to Kumawat, who was immensely grateful for their efforts.

This remarkable incident has received widespread appreciation across the community. The Director of the Solid Waste Management Department, Dr. Avesh Palod, personally acknowledged and commended the dedication of Gulve and his team for their conscientious work, reinforcing the Nashik Municipal Corporation's commitment to serving its residents.
