Due to the grand Shiv Jayanti celebrations and processions, the Nashik City Traffic Control Branch has announced traffic diversions in multiple areas, including Panchavati, Nashik Road, and Pathardi Phata. These changes will be in effect on Wednesday, February 19, from 12 noon until midnight.
Main Procession and Traffic Impact
The traditional Shiv Jayanti procession will begin at 1 PM from Wakdi Barav in Old Nashik and pass through key city areas. To ensure smooth movement, alternative routes will be implemented from 12 PM until the procession concludes.
Buses heading to Nashik Road Railway Station and Bus Stand will not pass through Bitco Chowk but will take an alternate route via Anand Nagari T-Point, Datta Mandir Signal, and Subhash Road.
Return routes for these buses will also follow the same diverted path.
Traffic Restrictions in Nashik Road and Jail Road
Shiv Janmotsav celebrations will occur in Nashik Road and Jail Road areas from February 18 to 23. During this period:
Entry of vehicles will be restricted from 5 PM to 11:30 PM to avoid congestion.
On Wednesday, February 19, vehicle movement will be completely banned from noon to midnight due to the main procession.
Traffic Diversion Plan
Vehicles from Dhumal Point will be diverted via Red Cross Signal, M.G. Road, Meher Signal, Ashok Stambh, Laviar Karanja, Holkar Bridge, and Panchavati Karanja.
All types of vehicles will be restricted on this route during the main procession.
Changes for Public Transport
Mahamandal and Citilinc buses from Panchavati ST Agar-2 and Nimani Bus Stand will be rerouted via Juna Adgaon Naka, Kannamwar Bridge, and Dwarka.
Citlinc buses from Laviar Karanja and Ashok Stambh will operate via Shalimar and continue on the same adjusted route.
Citizens are advised to plan their travel accordingly and use alternate routes to avoid inconvenience.
