Residents of Panchavati are facing severe water shortages despite the presence of 22 water tanks in the area. Many municipal water taps remain dry, and those that do have supply get water at extremely low pressure. In several wards, residents are forced to fetch water from neighboring areas, leading to growing frustration among citizens.

Panchavati is one of Nashik’s major divisions, with a rapidly growing population. The area consists of six wards and had a population of nearly 2.93 lakh as per 2017 statistics. Despite paying taxes, including water charges, residents are not receiving an adequate water supply. The Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) is responsible for providing 135 to 225 liters of water per person daily, but many areas in Panchavati are struggling with irregular supply and low pressure.

The Nilgiri Bagh water treatment plant, which supplies some parts of the Eastern Division, has a capacity of 10 to 12 million liters per day (MLD). While the administration plans to bring additional water from Mukne Dam in the future, the current situation remains critical. Ongoing work on new water bodies and pipeline connections is yet to provide relief to affected areas.

Areas such as Sambhajinagar, Snehnagar, Omkar Nagar, and parts of Adgaon Male area are among the worst hit. Residents, especially women, are demanding that water be supplied at least twice a day with proper pressure. They have urged authorities to expedite the completion of new water tanks and install pipelines in newly developed colonies to ensure a stable supply.
