Nashik residents are bracing for disruptions in water supply this weekend as Smart City initiatives move forward with the installation of SCADA meters and essential water supply works. The entire city's water supply will be suspended on Saturday, the 22nd of March, to facilitate these installations. Subsequently, on Sunday morning, the 23rd, water will be supplied at reduced pressure, affecting residents during the peak of summer heat.

The ongoing installation of SCADA systems at the Panchavati water purification center and various water tanks is part of the comprehensive efforts under the Smart City project. Concurrently, maintenance activities including repairs to main and sub-distribution channels, valve repairs, and replacements are underway to ensure uninterrupted water distribution across different areas.

The Municipal Water Supply Department has issued an appeal to citizens for cooperation during this period of service interruption. Residents are advised to make necessary arrangements due to the anticipated low-pressure water supply on Sunday morning.

Meanwhile, Nashik continues to experience rising temperatures, nearing 38 degrees Celsius. The recent mercury levels peaked at 36 degrees Celsius on Friday, signaling an increase in electricity demand amidst persistent high temperatures throughout the day.
