Nashik is all set to celebrate Shiv Jayanti on Wednesday (19th) with great enthusiasm. However, the city police have strictly prohibited the use of DJs and laser lights in any processions, including the main one from Old Nashik. Authorities have warned that action will be taken against violators who exceed the permitted noise limit.

A Shiv Janmotsav Committee meeting was held at Bhadrakali Police Station on Monday (17th), where Deputy Commissioner of Police Kiran Kumar Chavan, Assistant Commissioner Nitin Jadhav, Senior Police Inspector Gajendra Patil, and other officials were present along with group representatives. The police emphasized that all groups participating in processions must follow noise regulations in accordance with Supreme Court guidelines. If these rules are violated, strict action will be taken. Officials also stated that sound systems will be inspected to ensure compliance.

Security Arrangements for a Peaceful Celebration

To maintain law and order, heavy security has been deployed in the city. Various teams have been put on high alert, including:

  • State Reserve Force contingent
  • Rapid Response Team commandos
  • Striking Force and Riot Control Team
  • Location Teams
  • Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad

Additionally, Nirbhaya and Damini squads will be present to ensure the safety of women and prevent any disturbances. If anyone witnesses any unlawful activities or security issues, they should immediately report it to the police helpline at 112.

Police Commissioner Sandeep Karnik has urged citizens to celebrate Shiv Jayanti peacefully while being cautious of any false rumors. Deputy Commissioner of Police Kiran Kumar Chavan has also appealed to the public not to spread or believe in misinformation.

Authorities have assured that all necessary precautions are in place to ensure a smooth and secure celebration while upholding the cultural and historical significance of Shiv Jayanti.
