Tension in Nashik: Curfew Imposed in Dwarka and Kathegalli After Religious Dispute

In response to a dispute over a religious site in Kathegalli area on Nashik Pune Road, Deputy Commissioner of Police Kiran Kumar Chavan has ordered a curfew in Dwarka including Kathegalli starting Saturday (22). As a precaution, several roads from Dwarka to Kathegalli and surrounding areas on Pune Road have been closed to traffic since Friday night (21).

Special police forces have been deployed in different areas to prevent gatherings and potential disturbances at the site.

Open Routes for Traffic

  • Traffic from Nashik Road to Mumbai via Dwarka will divert through Bitco Point Jail Road. Small vehicles will turn right from Nashik Road before Fame Signal and proceed via Tapovan Road.
  • Heavy vehicles from Sambhajinagar Road heading towards Swaminarayan Chowk will be rerouted via Jatra Hotel towards Mumbai. Small vehicles will use Swaminarayan Chowk.
  • Traffic from Mumbai Naka Service Road will redirect via Indiranagar Jogging Track passing City Center Mall.
  • Traffic from Sarada Circle Chowk and Mumbai Naka will pass through Gadkari Chowk.

  • Raghoji Bhangre Chowk to Sahil Lawns approach road
  • Nagji Chowk to Kathe Gali Signal to Nagji Marg
  • Usmania Chowk to Muradbaba Dargah approach road
  • Nashik Road on Pune Highway approaching and departing road
  • Santosh T Point to Dwarka vehicles approaching
  • Indiranagar Jogging Track to Mumbai Naka on Service Road
  • All vehicles approaching Dwarka Circle from Sarada Circle and Mumbai Naka
