An Air India Express flight with 191 passengers on board en route from Dubai skidded off the runway while landing at Kerala’s Kozhikode on Friday evening, At least 15 people including the two pilots have died. The toll is likely to rise.After overshooting the runway, the aircraft broke into several pieces. The incident took place amid very heavy rainfall in the area around 7:40 pm. The plane broke into two pieces, and several passengers are reportedly around 123 people suffering injuries.

Rescue operations are currently underway. 15 ambulances have taken the injured to the nearby hospitals. Sources say that since it was a tabletop runaway and the landing was difficult. It is learnt that the A737 Boeing aircraft has not caught fire. While no official report has been received about the casualty count or the injuries, it is learnt that there were 177 passengers in total, including 10 children.
