29% male, 25% female started working from home for first time

With most offices across the country asking their employees to work from home amid the nationwide lockdown to combat the spread of coronavirus, about 29 per cent male and 25 per cent female have started to work from home for the first time, the latest -CVoter survey said on Saturday.

According to the survey, about 29.7 per cent male have started to work from home for the first time while 5.3 per cent have already been doing this. The report said that 56.9 per cent of people said they are not working from home amid the lockdown.

Similarly, in the case of women employees, about 25 per cent women have started to work from home for the first time amid the lockdown.

As per the survey, 7.4 per cent of women have already been working from home, while over 63.8 per cent of women said they are not working from home.

The survey also highlighted that over 35 per cent of freshers below the age of 25 years are working from home for the first time, while 51 per cent of them are not working from home and only 4 per cent of them have the experience of doing the same.

It also said that about 35 per cent of the people in the age group of 35-45 years are working from home for the first time while 51 per cent of them are not. A total of 6.8 per cent said they have been working from home since earlier.

The survey also said that about 29 per cent male and 27 per cent female have tried to prepare new dishes in the kitchen during the nationwide lockdown.

The survey pointed out that during the lockdown, about 36 per cent freshers below the age of 25 years tried to prepare new dishes in the kitchen, while 53 per cent did not try and 6 per cent said they have been doing it from before.

Similarly, during the lockdown, about 30 per cent people in the age group of 25-45 years said they tried to prepare a new dish while 61 per cent remained away from it and 7.7 per cent people said they have been doing it from before.

The survey also claimed that only 18.9 per cent of people in the age group of 45 to 60 years tried to prepare a new dish during the lockdown while 77 per cent of people did not try and only 3.5 per cent said they have been doing it from before.

Meanwhile, only 23.4 per cent people above the age of 60 tried to prepare a new dish while 67.5 per cent stayed away from it and 8.1 per cent did so earlier. kept on preparing as earlier.

The survey also pointed out that the people in the higher education group tried to prepare a new dish in the kitchen amid the lockdown more than those in the lower income group.

It said that 38.8 per cent of people in the higher income group tried to prepare a new dish followed by 33.8 per cent people in the middle income group and 24.7 per cent people in the lower income group.

The report further highlighted that 54.2 per cent in the higher income did not try to prepare any new dish during the lockdown, followed by 56.3 per cent in the middle income group and 67.3 per cent in the lower income group.
