Prayagraj, March 26 As the Yogi government has completed eight years in Uttar Pradesh, a three-day exhibition has been organised to inform people about the welfare schemes at the District Panchayat Bhawan of Sangam city, Prayagraj.

On the second day of the exhibition, beneficiaries of various government schemes along with Sakhis of many women's groups attended the programme. They said that the schemes play an important role towards promoting women's empowerment and making women self-reliant.

While talking to IANS, a female beneficiary praised the 'double engine government' of the state. She said, "The double engine government in the state has brought a lot of change in the lives of women. Earlier, women were not able to go out of their homes, but today women join many groups and go out of their homes and help each other. Earlier, our financial condition was very bad, but now it has improved a lot. Earlier, there was only one earning member in the family, due to which there were difficulties in the education of children, but now we are also earning. This has improved the financial condition of the family. I appeal to all women to come out of their homes and join groups. Everyone should come forward to help each other."

Praising the work being done by the state's 'double engine government' towards making women self-reliant, a woman said, "Earlier, women did not have any employment, they had to beg in front of others for a penny, and that too was not given on time. Today there has been a big change in that. Women are self-reliant now… this government thinks about women. It is working to take them forward. We want to thank PM Modi and CM Yogi from the bottom of our hearts for improving the economic condition of women. We hope that PM Modi and CM Yogi remain in their posts and work for the welfare of women continues."

Another woman said, "We are getting a lot of benefits under the BJP government. Earlier, if we took money, we had to pay interest on it. But now we have to pay only 1 per cent interest. We get money at the time of need. We are getting a lot of benefits from the schemes run by the government. In the Modi government, we can go out of our houses without fear. There is a huge difference between the previous government and the current government."
