Rai, also a Cabinet Minister, said the exploitation of auto drivers in Delhi has been put to an end.

"The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government has issued 10,000 new auto permits and most demands of the auto drivers' have been fulfilled," he told the media here.

He was addressing the media to announce that the party will have an auto wing in every assembly constituency of the city.

"An auto wing will be constituted in every assembly constituency in Delhi. Auto drivers have been playing a vital role in the election of the AAP in Delhi.

"Before the AAP government, auto drivers would operate under fear, and no one gave them a hearing. Leading a dignified life, running a household and educating their children was a big challenge," Rai said.

During the tenure of Sheila Dikshit, Rai added, the price of CNG was Rs 50 per kg, which the AAP has reduced to Rs 35.

"Even after five years, the price of CNG has not been allowed to return to 50. The government gave an off duty/on duty board, thereby enhancing the respect of auto drivers.

"Now, quarrels with passengers have also reduced. Ten thousand new permits have been issued, and also facilitated bank financing," the Minister said.
