Agra reports 24 new COVID-19 cases, tally 196

With 24 new cases of COVID-19 here on Friday, the district tally of coronavirus infected people climbed to 196, said an official.

With 24 new cases of COVID-19 here on Friday, the district tally of coronavirus infected people climbed to 196, said an official.

"24 people tested positive for COVID-19 in Agra on April 17. The corona tally in the district has reached 196. So far 5 people have died due to the virus," said Agra District Magistrate Prabhu N Singh.

He informed that corona tests of 150 people were conducted through pool sampling and 3,610 people have tested for the virus so far. Out of these, 281 people were tested on Friday.

Meanwhile, Principal Secretary (Health) Uttar Pradesh Amit Mohan Prasad said that 846 cases of COVID-19 have been reported in 49 districts of Uttar Pradesh including 74 cured and discharged.

2962 tests for corona were conducted on Thursday, he said.

The officer informed that 993 people are in isolation wards and 10,714 people are in quarantine facilities in the state.
