Agra, Uttar Pradesh (April 5, 2025): Two people died and seven others were injured when four shops collapsed in Sector 7, Was Vikas Colony, on Saturday afternoon. The incident occurred around 4 p.m. while renovation and repair work were underway inside the shops. Police said that family members and labourers were present at the scene when the collapse took place.  The victims were identified as Kishan Upadhyay, 65, and Vishnu Upadhyay, 60. Rescue operations are still ongoing.

Additional Police Commissioner Sanjeev Tyagi confirmed that nine people were rescued from the debris and rushed to a medical college. Two of the injured died during treatment. The remaining victims were sent to SM Hospital for medical attention.

"Construction work was underway when the shops collapsed, trapping several people. The police immediately launched a rescue operation and sent the injured to SM Hospital. Two people have died, and the rest are receiving medical treatment. The rescue operation is still ongoing," Tyagi said.
