Police in Hyderabad have arrested the son of a former corporator in connection with an alleged assault on government officials during an enforcement action. Authorities have also registered cases against AIMIM MLC Rehmat Baig and former corporator Ghouse for allegedly attacking officials and obstructing them from carrying out their duties.

According to police officials, the incident took place when a team of government authorities was performing its official duties in the city. During the operation, a group of individuals allegedly confronted the officials, leading to a heated argument that soon escalated into a physical altercation.

Police said the son of the former corporator was taken into custody for allegedly assaulting members of the government team. Based on the officials’ complaint, a case was also registered against Rehmat Baig and former corporator Ghouse for allegedly interfering with the officials and preventing them from performing their duties.
