Air-conditioned electric buses introduced in Lucknow

In a move to tackle carbon emission and to provide a pollution-free environment, the Uttar Pradesh government has introduced air-conditioned electric buses in Lucknow on Tuesday.

In a move to tackle carbon emission and to provide a pollution-free environment, the Uttar Pradesh government has introduced air-conditioned electric buses in Lucknow on Tuesday.

The Urban Development Minister Ashutosh Tandon said, "We have introduced 40 electric buses till now in the state capital. In coming months will introduce 700 more buses across the state."

The charging stations for these electric buses are under construction, he added.

The widespread introduction of AC electric buses will ensure an enhanced infrastructure of the local transport system, assuring easier commute for the city folks, the minister pointed out.
