Lucknow, Feb 7 The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court has issued a contempt notice to principal secretary, basic education, M.K.S. Sundaram and secretary, basic education, Aparna U. on a contempt petition filed in the dispute of one mark in the matter of appointment of 69,000 assistant basic teachers in Uttar Pradesh.

The order was passed by Justice Shree Prakash Singh on Tuesday on a contempt petition filed by a candidate, Vikas Singh.

Singh had claimed that the state authorities had not complied with the court’s earlier order of November 28, 2023.

Petitioners’ counsel contended that the court had passed the order deciding a bunch of petitions as the state authorities had assured the court (Allahabad high court) that one additional mark was to be provided to the eligible candidates and all exercise in this regard will be completed within two months.

The state authorities had not complied with the said order of the court despite the fact that over two months had passed, claimed petitioners’ counsel Amit Singh Bhadauria.

He said it was willful disobedience of the court’s order and fell under the purview of the contempt of court, the counsel added.

After hearing the matter, the court issued contempt notice to both the top respondent officers of the basic education department, directing them to list this matter in the week commencing from March 11.
