Amit Shah, Jaishankar to attend 'Namaste Trump' event

Union Home Minister Amit Shah and External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar are likely to attend the 'Namaste Trump' event at the Motera stadium in Ahmedabad on Monday.

Gandhinagar, Feb 22 Union Home Minister Amit Shah and External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar are likely to attend the 'Namaste Trump' event at the Motera stadium in Ahmedabad on Monday.

A couple of other Union Ministers are also expected at the event, being organised to welcome US President Donald Trump on his first visit to India.

"All Gujarat Cabinet ranked Ministers have been given two platinum passes for the event. They have also been given 10 gold passes to invite the influential persons of their choice to the event. The Ministers have been asked to stay at their residences in Gandhinagar. By 11 a.m. they will be taken to the stadium in special vehicles, vetted by the security apparatus," said a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader.

Similarly, all BJP legislators had been asked to stay at the MLA quarters, from where they would be taken to the event in a special bus at 10 a.m, the leader added

Leader of the opposition in Gujarat Assembly Paresh Dhanani has been invited to the ceremony. However, according to sources, Dhanani is unlikely to attend as he is expected to be out of the town.
