Two motorcycle-borne attackers hurled a bomb-like object, causing a blast at Thakurdwara Temple in Punjab's Amritsar in the early hours of Saturday, March 15. The explosion occurred at a temple located on Thakur Sher Shah Suri Road in Amritsar. Fortunately, the temple priest escaped unharmed. Police are investigating the attack.

The attack is clearly visible in CCTV footage. In the video, a bike with a flag stops near the temple premises, and a pillion rider gets down from the bike. After a few seconds, he throws an explosive, triggering a massive explosion in the area.

According to the Amritsar Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, police received a call regarding the blast at around 2 am by the temple priest. He said he and other senior officials reached the spot.

The commissioner said that the police were deployed at the incident site and were trying to identify the accused through the CCTV video. A forensic team was also at the spot and collected samples, and further investigation is underway. 

"I came here at 2 am after receiving information about the blast. The forensic team has also reached the spot and I have spoken with the people here. Efforts are being made by Pakistan to disturb the atmosphere here, and some local youths are involved in this. I urge our youths not to get involved in such activities," Amritsar Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar.
