Andhra Pradesh: A student was brutally murderer in the Khajipet area of Kadapa district after youth allegedly attacked her over a one-sided love affair, police said on Saturday. As per the police report, accused Venkatesh had been harassing the victim  for sometime and was pressuring her to marry him.

When she refused his proposal, he allegedly slit her throat. Police registered case and took accused into custody. While being transferred from Mydukur on Saturday morning, Venkatesh allegedly attacked two police constables and tried to escape. Police fired warning shots, and when he persisted in fleeing, they shot him in the legs, injuring him.   

The accused was immediately shifted to Kadapa RIMS hospital for treatment.Kadapa SP Shelke Nachiket Vishwanath confirmed the incident and said further investigation is underway.
