Patna, April 10 A tragic road accident in Motihari has claimed the life of Ashok Kumar Singh, an Indian Army soldier who was home on leave, leaving his family and the entire village in deep mourning.

The incident occurred in the Sangrampur area around 6.30 a.m. on Friday, where Singh was standing near the roadside close to his residence.

A speeding truck, heavily loaded with timber, lost control and struck him with great force, causing critical injuries.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital by locals but succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

According to an official, Ashok Kumar Singh was serving in the Indian Army and had come to his village on leave.

He was scheduled to return to duty on April 18.

However, the tragic accident cut short his life before he could rejoin his post.

Eyewitnesses stated that the truck was moving at a very high speed and appeared to be overloaded, which likely led to the driver losing control.

In the immediate aftermath of the accident, chaos broke out at the scene as villagers gathered and attempted to save him.

The truck driver fled the spot following the incident.

Bihar Police have registered a case and launched a search operation to apprehend the accused.

Initial findings suggest overspeeding and heavy loading as the primary causes behind the accident.

The news has devastated Singh’s family. His wife and three-year-old daughter, Anmol Kumari, are inconsolable, with the child too young to comprehend the magnitude of the loss.

Other family members remain in shock, while grief has engulfed the entire village.

Locals remembered Ashok Kumar Singh as a humble and patriotic individual who inspired many young people to join the armed forces and serve the nation.

His sudden demise is being described as an irreparable loss to the community.

The police have taken custody of the body and sent it for post-mortem examination.

Further legal proceedings are underway, and authorities have assured that the absconding driver will be arrested soon, and strict action will be taken.
