A major accident occurred in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj on Wednesday when an army training aircraft crashed into a pond in the heart of the city. Both the trainee pilot and an accompanying instructor sustained injuries but were successfully rescued from the partially submerged wreckage by alert local villagers and emergency teams. The plane, reportedly belonging to a local aviation academy, went down near Vidya Vahini School following what witnesses described as a sudden technical failure.

While the aircraft suffered significant damage, authorities confirmed both pilots are in stable condition.  The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has ordered a formal inquiry to determine the exact cause of the crash, as teams begin the process of recovering the fuselage from the muddy waters. Following the crash, police, fire brigade, and rescue teams raced to the scene upon receiving information about the accident.
