An FIR has been filed against former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and unidentified members of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) at Shahabad Police Station in Kurukshetra. The FIR follows Kejriwal’s allegations that the Haryana government poisoned the Yamuna River water.
The case was registered on a court order under various sections of the Bharatiya National Security (BNS). The complaint was lodged by Jagmohan Manchanda.
Kejriwal’s remarks, made during a press interaction on January 27, claimed that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Haryana added a poisonous substance, possibly ammonia, to the Yamuna River. He said, "Delhi gets drinking water from Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, but the Haryana government has mixed poison. It is only due to the vigilance of our Delhi Jal Board engineers that this water was stopped."
The charges reportedly include inciting a riot, promoting hatred, falsely accusing someone with intent to cause harm, and committing acts that insult the religious feelings of citizens.
