Two were killed, and four other members of the family, including a woman, were injured after a car they were travelling to met with an accident on Wednesday night, February 19. According to the news agency IANS, the family was travelling to attend the Maha Kumbh Mela in the Prayagraj district of Uttar Pradesh.

The deceased were identified as Shantanu Mukherjee (65) and Shailen Banerjee (60). Six family members, including four women, were injured, one critically at receiving treatment at the hospital. The accident took place at around 11 pm on Wednesday when a lorry collided with their car, which crashed into a stationary container on National Highway 19.

The injured are being treated at Asansol District Hospital, and the bodies have been sent for post-mortem. Further investigation into the accident is underway.
