Guwahati, May 12 Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Tuesday said that Assam is set to continue its development journey under the leadership of Himanta Biswa Sarma, asserting that the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government has received the people’s blessings for a third consecutive term in the state.

Speaking to reporters after arriving in Guwahati to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Sarma and his council of ministers, Scindia said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas” has transformed Assam and the northeastern region over the last 12 years.

“Today, for the third time, the blessings of the people are with the Bharatiya Janata Party and with the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister’s ideology has always been ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas’. Based on this ideology, Assam and the eight northeastern states have witnessed unprecedented progress in the last 12 years,” Scindia said.

The Union Minister further stated that Assam would continue to move ahead on the same path of growth and development under the leadership of Sarma and the new NDA government.

“Assam will continue to march forward on the same path. I extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Himanta ji and all his colleagues who are taking the oath today. I also offer my greetings and respect to the people of Assam,” he added.

The swearing-in ceremony of the new Assam government was held at Khanapara in Guwahati in the presence of Prime Minister Modi, several Union ministers, and Chief Ministers of NDA-ruled states.

Sarma, who led the BJP-led NDA to a massive electoral victory in the recently concluded Assam Assembly elections, is taking oath as the Chief Minister for the second consecutive term.

Senior BJP leaders, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, attended the ceremony.
