At least five devotees were killed and one person seriously injured when a truck crashed into a crowd in front of a temple in Kokrajhar district on Monday morning. The incident occurred at the Mahamaya temple in Kachugaon, where participants of the Bol Bom yatra, observing Jal Abhishekam during the Sawan month, were gathered. 

Pushparaj Singh, Superintendent of Police for Kokrajhar, confirmed the fatalities and stated that the injured individual was taken to a hospital. The truck driver has been apprehended by the police.The victims have been identified as Sukran Roy, 20; Jai Roy, 11; Bappi Ghosh, 21; Basudev Roy, 22; and Naba Ghosh, 26, all residents of Hatigarh Village No. 1, Gossaigaon. The injured, 22-year-old Binan Roy, was rushed to Kachugaon Primary Hospital for urgent medical attention.
