Ayodhya's Additional District Magistrate (Law and Order), Surjit Singh was found dead under mysterious circumstances at his residence in Sursari Colony of Kotwali Nagar in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday, October 24. The cause of his death is still under investigation. 

Government officials and local police are currently at the spot. Investigation is going on in the case. Blood was seen spread all over the floor of a room in his house.  58-year-old Singh was a resident of Farrukhabad. Before Ayodhya, he was posted in Jaunpur. Samajwadi Party MP Awadhesh Prasad said that the people of the area had no complaints against him and he was a good leader. 

"After getting this information, I left all my work and came to his residence. We are sad. This incident is painful. He was a good officer. People have no complaints against him..," Prasad said while speaking to news agency ANI.
