One laborer died and four others were seriously injured when a brick kiln wall collapsed in Bareilly’s Mirganj area on Saturday morning. The incident occurred around 8 a.m. at Durga Brick Field near the national highway. Workers were loading bricks when the structure suddenly gave way, trapping five laborers under the debris.

Police arrived quickly and launched a rescue operation with bulldozers and cranes. After two hours, four laborers were pulled from the rubble and rushed to the hospital with severe injuries. The body of the fifth worker was recovered nearly three hours later. The deceased has been identified as Chotelal from Dhanta.

According to regional media reports, tensions flared after the incident as the victims’ families gathered on the highway in protest. Some attempted to block traffic, demanding action and accountability. Police intervened and managed to disperse the crowd.
