Authorities in Barnala were thrown into a state of alarm after several schools received bomb threat emails. The mail sparked fear among students, parents, and staff across the district. The threats, sent in two separate emails, mentioned six institutions, including Tandon International School, Arya Bhatta College School, the Vice School’s two branches, Sacred Heart School, and Gobind Public School. Acting without delay, police teams rushed to the locations and evacuated all campuses as a safety measure. Children were calmly guided out of classrooms and gathered in open spaces like playgrounds and auditoriums, while officials began intensive checks to ensure no harm.

“Early in the morning, basically two emails were received. Three to four schools got bomb threat intimations. The first email came around 7:45 am, which was directly received by Tandon School, and the second email was also received by the cyber team at around 8:03 am. In this, YS School, MTS, Tandon, Aryabhatta, and also Gobind Public School were mentioned. As soon as we received the information, I, along with the DC office system, and the district control room, activated all concerned officers, including the police station teams, petroleum team, and anti-sabotage team.” said SSP Mohammad Sarfaraz Alam.

Following extensive searches, senior officials confirmed that no suspicious objects were found at any of the locations, bringing relief to anxious families. The administration indicated that the emails were likely a hoax, similar to earlier such incidents reported in other regions. Security was tightened around the institutions, and cyber experts have begun tracing the origin of the messages. Authorities have appealed to the public to remain calm, trust official updates, and refrain from sharing unverified information that could create unnecessary panic.
