Basti, Uttar Pradesh (March 10, 2025):  Five people were killed, and three others were critically injured in a road accident on the Basti-Ayodhya Highway. The crash occurred near Gotwa in the Nagar police station area when a container truck and a seven-seater car collided.

How the Crash HappenedThe accident took place when a container truck traveling from Basti to Ayodhya suddenly changed lanes. A seven-seater car coming from the opposite direction crashed into the truck, resulting in a devastating impact. Five people died at the scene, while four others suffered severe injuries.

Victims and Rescue OperationsOne of the deceased has been identified as Prem, the driver of the car. He was a resident of Tarkulhi Jasopur in Gorakhpur’s Khoraabar police station area. The identities of the other four victims are yet to be confirmed.

Police officials, including the Circle Officer of Kalwari and the Station House Officer of Nagar, reached the scene along with a rescue team. Efforts are underway to clear the highway, which was blocked in both directions due to the accident.
